    “Habibi Village (HV) stoaks my smoldering nostalgia for Asheville's open-minded, kind, optimistic spirit of my youth. HV fuses Middle Eastern (similar to Mediterranean) style cuisine with WNC terroir--earthy flavors from local agriculture. Zatar is a savory spice mix, also good with sesame seeds. Vegan cheese feels kind of like pre-melted cheese spread (e.g., pepper jack), or creamed-cheese ( e.g., sheep's milk). Sandwich ingredients all wrap-up in cooked to order "suf" (gluten-free buckwheat) flatbread (domed upside-down skillet) with HV's home grown garden fresh cherry tomatoes, mint, and cucumbers; and olives and local greens.”
