About June 2023 retreat: We were a group of 7 facilitators, community founders, Cherokee Elder, musicians and yoga teachers that came to Lebanon to share their gifts with the local community. 

In this short documentary, we follow a transformative two-week retreat in Lebanon hosted by Habibi Village, where a group of healers, leaders and changemakers came together from around the globe to share their practices and songs with the Lebanese people. We invite you to tune in to the prayers of Appalachian native Cherokee wisdom keeper, the practices of intentional community founders and healers as we share songs and prayers in the sweat lodge at the ancient Cedar Forest of Lebanon honoring all the elements of life.

In exchange, we introduced our group to the cultural diversity of Lebanon through meeting the locals, bringing in renowned public historian to help us understand the context behind the ancient ruins and sites we explored. We visited the Cedar forest and met the Tata tree, a 3000 year old tree still vibrating life as one of the most ancient species in the tree family and written about in the Epic of Gilgamesh known as the Cedar of God. We dived deep into the rich culinary cuisine Lebanon has to offer amongst many other mediterranean gems.
